The challenge

Buho was running a lot of manual analysis of news media and social media which was eating up a lot of their team’s time and wasn’t a scalable solution. The team wanted to automate part of their analyzing process for clients looking for PR and PR social monitoring.

At the time, they had between 20-40 people looking at sentiment, topics, and news sources (predominantly social listening for large multi-nationals) they needed help analyzing and classifying information for business intelligence dashboards and tailored reports, so their team could focus on the human relationships and connections they were building with clients.

The Goal

The goal of building custom AI tools was to cut down the team’s time on manual reporting tasks by automating the extraction of metadata, author name, publication date, and topic. Furthermore, we wanted to analyze and classify information by keyword, theme, sentiment, company, and more while populating this information into a BI dashboard for clients.

The solution

The Skim Ai team built custom generative AI models to analyze news media for social listening and hosted them on API endpoints. These endpoints outputted data in a way that was easy for clients to integrate into their back-end and automate their entire business intelligence dashboard.

Overall, this helped the Buho team cut down a cast amount of time on manually researching news media and social media and inputting data for clients. It also enabled them to create a more customer-centric business, while they let AI work behind the scenes they were able to look after clients front of house.
